Kicking off an expanded preseason schedule, Flames will visit Cergy-Pontoise in France for their opening challenge game on August 22nd. They will make a trip to Bristol Pitbulls on August 29th before taking home ice for the first time on August 30th at 6pm against the same opponent. Challenge action continues September 5th and 6th welcoming Coventry Blaze to Spectrum on Saturday 5th at 6pm before travelling to Blaze Sunday for a 5:30pm start that closes the preparation game schedule. Challenge Cup action gets underway Saturday, September 12th at Cardiff Devils before the Cup home opener, Sunday 13th at 6pm against Sheffield Steelers. “I mentioned earlier in the summer that the trip to France will be a good chance to get away for a few days with everyone spending a lot of time together as part of team building for the season ahead,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon. “From start of training through to the Cup schedule, in addition to the games, we have much more time together and on ice training than we have ever had previously and we are hoping it will give us a better running start than we have in the past couple of seasons.” “We believe in the players we have put together to be a very competitive club, and if we can keep injuries to a manageable level, we are optimistic about having a very successful season.” |
