This is Jordan’s first appearance outside of North America after spending 61 games last season with Norfolk Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League where he had a goal and 7 assists. The native of Leduc, Alberta also closed the 2016-2017 season in Virginia when he played 10 games with the club immediately after completing his 5th and final season of college hockey at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. In 108 games at NAIT, including a pair of seasons alongside Flames forward John Dunbar, Abt had 34 goals and 101 points and was on hand for 3 playoff titles; one in 2013 and back to back captures in 2015 and 2016, the last of which was a result of a perfect 36 win and 0 loss schedule including playoffs. Abt was a First All-Conference team selection in 2015-2016 and added a 2nd team award the following year. Prior to his jump to the college ranks, he spent 3 seasons, totalling 151 games, in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, the bulk of his time with St. Albert Steel before a short final stretch at Drayton Valley Thunder.
