Bajkov Added to Roster
Flames roster adjustments continue with the addition of Canadian forward Patrick Bajkov. Bajkov began the season at HK Nitra in the Slovak Extraleague after 51 games last term at Kristianstads IK and HC Vita Hästen in the Swedish Allsvenskan. The 25 year old had 9 goals and 16 assists for 25 points during his first overseas stint. The 6’0”, 175lb skater, with exception of short AHL stints at Springfield Thunderbirds, spent 2018-2019 through 2021-2022 with Florida Everblades, Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Reading Royals. Bajkov made 221 ECHL starts while registering 66 goals and 166 points with his best term coming during his final ECHL stop where he amassed 26 goals and 69 points in 71 starts. “The most glaring area where we have struggled this season is offensively,” explained Head Coach Paul Dixon. “We have had far too many games where we could only muster a goal or two and it simply is not enough to win a lot of hockey games. Patrick is a proven offensive star in the leagues he has played in.” “Patrick just arrived so we will get him a week of a training in before dropping him into the lineup next weekend, and with luck we will be able to shortly announce another offensively gifted player who will be with us in the not too distant future.” |
