26 year old Taz Burman will return to the goaltending group when the Flames new season kicks off.
Fresh off his collegiate stay with University of Alberta Golden Bears, the 6'1", 170lb netminder posted 22 Flames wins against just 5 defeats while recording a 2.67 goals against average and better than 90 save percentage over 1600+ minutes.
“We found ourselves in a pretty good situation this past season by being comfortable with whomever we called on to take the net on any given night,” said Paul Dixon.
“Taz is a very calm presence and never really gets too excited regardless of the situation, and with that particular position that is a crucial element of play.”
“He was able to consistently play at a level that gave us a chance to win games, and that is exactly what you are asking of the guy in the crease each and every night.”
“On top of that, it is important that goaltenders can push each other and be competitive with each other, while at the same time supporting and wishing the best for each other on game night. You don’t always get that tricky combination right with different personalities, and we really had that this past season and it’s great to be most of the way there again.”
