Logan Fredericks collected 3 assists in just his 2nd game with the club, and Peter Crinella had a pair of goals to lead the scoring charge during a 6-2 win at Fife Flyers that secures a Scottish road sweep.
Rob Lachowicz opened the Flames account at 11:15. 76 seconds after that Peter Crinella extended. At 14:27 Brayden Sherbinin cut the home side’s deficit to a single, but Crinella’s 2nd less than 2 minutes later re-stored his team’s 2 goal lead through the end of the set.
A pair of Flyers penalties before the 2nd period was halfway through went unpunished by the Flames powerplay, then it was Flyers’ turn to miss out on an opportunity that included a short stint of 5 on 3 late in the frame. Just as the last penalty expired, though, Flames made it a 3 goal difference thanks to an Ian McNulty strike at 37:03.
31 seconds into the 3rd, Flyers looking to give themselves life had a good start to that aspiration with a Chris Gerrie goal, but a Daniel Tedesco answer about 7 minutes later put the game all but out of reach before Jordan Klimek a little over a minute from close rounded out the scoring.
Eamon McAdam in the Flames net turned away 27 of 29 shots while Shane Owen recorded 35 saves on 41 shots.
“We don’t all that often get both wins on a back to back in Scotland so that is really a great outcome to the set of games,” Paul Dixon said.
“It was a pretty strong showing for 120 minutes this weekend, and fortunately tonight compared to last night we had a bit more luck around the net and were able to get a bit of breathing room to play with a good lead.”
“A lot of credit to these guys who came up here with a purpose and put it out on the ice to earn the points.”
