Nottingham Panthers scored 2 in the opening frame then another late in the 3rd against no reply across the contest, sending Spectrum’s men home on the back of a 3-0 road defeat.

Despite outshooting Panthers 15-7 in the 1st, Flames fell behind early with Joe Hazeldine opening the scoring for Panthers at 3:40 and Tyler Welsh had them 2 goals to the good before the period was halfway through. The remainder of the frame went scoreless as did the entire period that followed.

With time on short supply in the 3rd, Jordan Kelsall put the game out of reach at 54:06 leaving the visitors looking ahead to Sunday’s rematch on home ice.

Rok Stojanovic posted the shutout with 36 saves on the same number of shots. Eamon McAdam turned away 16 of 19.
