February 15th at Glasgow Clan - League

3 Flames goals in the final stanza, including a late empty netter, helped them break free from a 1-1 tie and secure a 4-2 win at Glasgow Clan.

Just ahead of the 7-minute mark, Jamie Crooks put Flames in front on a powerplay, and the visitors from Surrey carried that lead into the middle frame.

Matt Pufahl tied it at a goal each near the midway point and that too was the only goal of the set as the clubs headed to a winner take all 3rd locked on a goal each.

Less than 2 minutes after re-start, Flames went back in front when Erik Lindhagen was on target.  Ben Davies extended the difference at 52:05.  A reply by Chad Rau at 53:34 left them plenty of time to seek the leveller, but while they were doing so with 6 skaters and 1:16 to play, Lindhagen iced it with the empty netter.

“As our final long journey to Scotland this season, we are certainly glad to be coming home with a couple of points.”

“We got a bit of a break with a nice bounce on the 3rd goal, but that was a key moment to have been able to get up by a couple with 7 or 8 minutes left, and in this case it also happened to be the actual difference in the game.”

“It is important now that we immediately turn our heads to Sunday’s game.  We have a long trip back with a 7 or 8am arrival in Guildford and not a lot of time to re-set for a game less than 12 hours after that.”
