Flames add Neumann
Canadian Forward Brett Neumann will join the Flames when the new campaign gets underway. The 5’10”, 175lb skater had 28 goals and 49 points across 65 Glasgow Clan starts in league, cup and playoffs last season. His Scottish foray was not his first in EIHL after spending the 22-23 and 23-24 terms at Sheffield Steelers where he was on hand for the Grand Slam haul in the 2nd half of his stay. The 27 year old broke into pro hockey with AHL Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2020-2021 when he iced 4 times before spending the bulk of the schedule with ECHL Allen Americans where he had 8 goals and 8 assists in 25 outings. After a short stay the following season at USports Saint Mary’s University, the native of Toronto played 21 games, including playoffs, at Orli Znojmo of ICEHL. He moved on to Sheffield from there and then iced a season in Switzerland before returning to UK shores to take up with Clan. In 5 seasons of Canadian Jr hockey, Neumann racked up 128 goals and 244 points in 318 games with Erie Otters, Kingston Frontenacs, and Oshawa Generals. “We have liked the way Brett plays from the moment he came in the league,” said Paul Dixon. “He is a good skater and has a goal scoring knack. He had a lot of success with Steelers. He was a big part of them running the table on the trophy selection a few years back, and we are looking forward to bringing his talent into our lineup.” |
