Flames and Flyers in Cup Quarters Flames and Fife Flyers have drawn each other in the 2 leg aggregate goal Cup Quarter Final. Leg 1 will take place at Fife on Wednesday, December 6th, 7:30pm with the 2nd leg taking place at Spectrum on Wednesday, December 13th, also a 7:30pm start. Flyers finished as the 4th seed in the Cup group round with 6 points from 3 wins and 3 defeats. Flames had an identical .500 record over 8 games with 4 wins and 4 losses for an 8 point haul. “We didn’t have the kind of start to the season we were looking for, but we have come on lately, and are excited to get into the quarter final of the cup,” explained Paul Dixon. “We have had some successes in the cup over the past few years including appearances in the semi final last season and a final appearance a couple of seasons before that, but we have yet to win it and that is always high on our agenda.” “You don’t have a lot of room for error in the short series, and starting a long way from home is a real challenge to ensure we can come home for leg 2 with a chance at advancement.” “We are pleased we have been playing better this past month, and looking forward to the challenge of getting into the next round.” |
