Cup semi final and replacement league match Flames and Glasgow Clan will go head to head in the 2 leg aggregate goal Cup Semi Final. Leg 1 will take place at Glasgow on Saturday, January 20th, 7pm with the existing league game converted to the opening Cup leg. The 2nd leg will be at Spectrum on Wednesday, February 7th with a 7:30pm start. The replacement league game at Glasgow will now take place Wednesday, February 21st at 7:30pm. The winner of the 2 leg series will advance to Cup final where the Flames have not been since 2019 when they lost in overtime to Belfast Giants. “It is pretty exciting to be down to the last 4 teams and to be in with a chance to get back to the final,” said Paul Dixon. “We remember all too well how close we came in 2019, just a goal away from the trophy, and we desperately want to get back there for a chance to right that result.” “We are grateful to Glasgow who flipped an existing league game designation to allow us to have the 2nd leg at home. Hopefully by the time we get to that point we are in a situation where we can close it out on home ice and clinch a championship game opportunity.” |
