Griffiths and McAdam return
British forward Owen Griffiths will ice the 2nd year of his current 2 year agreement at Spectrum while netminder Eamon McAdam will kick off a new 2 year contract when the season opens in September. McAdam, a 6’3”, 195lb former pick of the NHL’s New York Islanders, joined last season after 21-22 at Danish side Esbjerg Energy. In 32 League games in Flames gear, the 28 year old posted a 90.7 save percentage and a 2.99 goals against average. The 23-24 campaign will take up the final year of Griffiths’ current deal. The Cardiff born, 26 year old forward, appeared in all 68 games this past season and recorded 5 goals and 19 points. Griffiths has made 189 Flames starts over 3 terms with 17 goals and 47 points. “I thought this season that Owen really took some great strides in truly putting himself into position to be a key contributor every night.” “He was one of our top penalty killers and he was able to play on any line we put him on.” “Eamon put in a pretty solid season for us for his EIHL debut.” “He fit in really well with the team, got along very well with his position mates, and we are happy he enjoyed his time here and wanted to be back with us to try and help push us over the line we didn’t quite get to cross this past season.” |
