Hook and Flames come together for 23-24
The Flames and Great Britain national team forward Lewis Hook have come together for the 23-24 season. The 26 year old joins the club after spending the bulk of the past 5 terms with Belfast Giants bar a short stop for 16 games last season at Kitzbüheler EC in Austria, and the 20-21 Elite series during the covid shut down where he iced with Nottingham Panthers. In 27 games last season with the Northern Ireland based Grand Slam Champions, the 6’0”, 180lb skater had 13 goals and 24 points. Including short stops at Coventry Blaze and Milton Keynes Lightning, Hook has iced 245 EIHL games while registering 48 goals and 119 points. The Peterborough native has a closet full of trophies that include EPIHL Cup and Playoff champion in 2016-2017, EIHL Conference champion in 2014-2015, 3 EIHL League and Cup titles from 2018-2023, a pair of EIHL Cup captures from 21-23, and another conference title from the 18-19 set. Under national team colours, Hook has 13 caps at the Elite world championship senior level as well as a Bronze and Gold medal while with the GB U20’s during his development career. “Lewis’ pedigree domestically and internationally speaks for itself in terms of what he has been able to achieve while still early in his career,” said Paul Dixon. “In his last couple of EIHL seasons, Lewis has developed into a true offensive presence with more than 30 points a couple of seasons ago, and numbers that work out to more than 60 points had he been in Belfast’s lineup for all of last season.” “We were looking for help to improve our depth of talent across the lineup, and certainly Lewis helps give us more options, so it is a really exciting signing for this club.” |
