Kobe Walker will make pro debut with Flames
25 year old Canadian Forward Kobe Walker will join the Flames when the new season gets underway. The 5’9”, 175lb skater is coming off 5 NCAA seasons between 2018 and 2023 at Rochester Institute of Technology where he recorded 40 goals and 40 assists over 142 appearances. His best season came last year when 31 games produced 12 goals and 23 points. Ahead of his collegiate stay, the native of Lloydminster, Alberta spent 2 junior seasons with his home town Bobcats of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He opened his full time Jr. account in 2016-2017 with 17 goals and 40 points across 59 games and improved his lot the following term when he had 29 goals and 67 points in 60 starts. “We have a lot of veteran players returning, but we are always looking to make sure we are also adding younger players who we think can add a refreshing spark to our lineup,” explained Paul Dixon. “This will be Kobe’s pro debut, but he certainly has a background that will allow him to have a lot of success here.” “He has been a significant offensive presence with his previous teams and he plays the kind of up pace game that we like to play. On top of that, he captained his team last year and was an alternate the year prior so he has a leader mentality that is always a welcome quality in our dressing room.” “He is very excited to get here and make a contribution to what we are hoping to achieve, and we are looking forward to getting started with him in September.” |
