Lemos making overseas debut with Flames
The Flames have signed American Bryan Lemos. The 26 year old forward iced the last 4 seasons in the ECHL, most recently with Indy Fuel where he collected 16 goals and 42 points in 67 games. In his 4 term stint from 2019 to this past Spring, the 5’10”, 190lb skater made 261 starts, mostly with Kansas City Mavericks, while posting 61 goals and 149 points. During the 21-22 set, Lemos also made 1 appearance with the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins. Prior to turning pro, and after a Junior season with USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms, the native of East Providence, spent 4 collegiate seasons near home at NCAA Providence College. In 90 games while combining Athletics and Academics, Lemos had 8 goals and 25 points. “Bryan is very good with the puck, has good speed, and he works in all areas of the ice," offered Paul Dixon. "His track record offensively is pretty solid and with his level of mobility he should be able to adjust well to the bigger ice surface around most of our league.” “He played with Ryan Tait in college so there is a bit of familiarity there which usually is a good step in the transition to living in a new country.’ “He is excited to get here, and we are looking forward to welcoming him into the group in September.” |
