Long Returns; Clarke-Pizzo Joins

Adam Long will return to the club to complete the 3 man netminding group and joining him on the roster will be forward, and former GB U20, Morgan Clarke-Pizzo.

Dressing for the bulk of last season, 26 year old Long made 2 appearances with Spectrum’s side after joining the club from Manchester Storm.

In 2018-2019 while with NIHL 1 Invicta Dynamos, the 6’1”, 165lb stopper got the call up and made his Elite League debut with Storm where he remained for the 2019-2020 term when he got into a pair of games and posted a 1.30 goals against average and a 94.7 save percentage.

The native of Crewe also has a couple of GB appearances on his resume as the starter for his country at the World University games during the 16-17 and 18-19 terms.

22 year old, Peterborough born, Clarke-Pizzo made his EIHL debut during the 2021 Elite series with Nottingham Panthers and went on to ice 16 games with them this past season where he scored his first goal at EIHL level.  He split the bulk of the season between NIHL Peterborough Phantoms and Milton Keynes Lightning, bagging 11 goals and 26 points in 33 starts between the sides.

The son of former Flames forward and long time Panther David Clarke, Morgan spent his 2018-2020 Junior seasons in America with USPHL Syracuse Stars and Utica Comets.  The 5’6”, 160lb forward played on a point a game pace, netting 18 goals and 59 points in exactly the same number of starts. His time there earned him back to back GB U20 berths where he iced 9 games between World championship events in 2018 and 2019 and collected a pair of Bronze medals.

“We are pleased to get Adam back and also to sign a promising young player like Morgan,” explained Head Coach Paul Dixon.

“Adam had a great attitude last year in a job that has to be the toughest mental challenge in all of sports, trying to be ready when you don’t know when you need to be ready!”

“He works hard every single day at training, is always upbeat and is well liked by his teammates and we are really happy that he wanted to be back for the coming term.”

“Morgan is showing some real promise as part of the next generation of GB players.  He obviously comes from a family background involving hockey, and he really has the mindset of wanting to be a better player.”

“He had an outstanding jr career in America as well as a couple of years in Canada prior to that so he has been able to have success against some top level competition at each level.”

“He has only just been introduced to the senior game in the last year+ and we are looking forward to having him in our lineup full time to see where he can fit in with us.”
