November 27th at Fife Flyers - League

An early 2nd period goal was all the Fife Flyers would need before they added a pair of late empty netter for a 3-0 win over the visiting Flames.

After the long journey, Flames opened the game with a 10-6 shot advantage and a powerplay attempt through 20 minutes but the clubs went to break still on a scoreless draw.

Fife turned the shot count around in the middle set, outshooting Flames 13-5 in the set, and that advantage translated to a goal when Jacob Benson was on target at 24:06; a lead the nursed into the 3rd.

The final frame was scoreless again through 18+ minutes before Flames removed Kevin Lindskoug in favour of an extra attacker while trying to tie it, but Flyers sealed it with Benson’s 2nd into the vacated cage just over a minute from time and Michael McNicholas 10 seconds out.

“This one is maybe a bit tougher than a few weeks ago in Dundee because we were in it right until the end,” said Paul Dixon.

“We needed a bit of a bounce somewhere along the line to pull even again and it just never came.”

“It is always hard to come all this way and go home empty handed, but we have to re-group as best we can and see if we can make progress on home ice against Sheffield.”
