Logan Fredericks had a pair of goals and Eamon McAdam posted a shutout as the Flames registered a 4-0 home ice win against Manchester Storm to close out the pre-season schedule.

Flames had the only goal of the opening frame when Bradley Lalonde opened the club’s account, and they nursed that slim margin into the middle frame.

Just 18 seconds into the 2nd, Sam Talbot bagged his first in Flames gear and a shorthanded marker by Fredericks near the midway point had Flames holding a 3 goal edge through 40 minutes.

Fredericks added the 4th less than 60 seconds into the 3rd to complete the evening’s offence.

“I thought we looked a little sharper defensively than we did the night before, but also playing on the bigger ice surface fits more with our game and would have definitely helped us achieve that objective,” explained Head Coach Paul Dixon.

“It’s nice to get the win for sure to open up the home schedule, but at the end of the day the weekend was about getting to the best early season playing level we can.”

“There is a long way to go, and nobody in the league will play their best hockey in September so we will get back to training and keep working on the things we want to be second nature when the puck drops on all the game nights ahead.”
