Tesink returns for 2nd season Marcus Tesink will return to the Flames for a 2nd season after opening his pro account at Spectrum this past term where he iced 70 games, recording 1 goal and 13 assists across all competitions. The 5’10”, 190lb skater debuted with Flames after 3 seasons at USports Concordia University where he iced 64 games, registering 4 goals and 16 points. Ahead of his university stay, the 25 year old dressed nearly 3 seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Moncton Wildcats, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Saint John Sea Dogs between 2014 and 2018. He appeared in 123 games while posting 2 goals and 15 assists before spending his final year and a half of junior eligibility with Chilliwack Chiefs of the British Columbia Hockey League. Tesink had 5 goals and 34 points in 86 starts and helped the side to the 2017-2018 RBC Cup national title. “Marcus came in and did a great job for us last season,” said Paul Dixon. “He skates very well and was able to use that to offer a consistent presence from night to night. He is a true professional with his off ice work, his attitude and his overall day to day plan to be ready for training and games.” “We are glad he was interested in returning to us and we are looking forward to his contribution now that he has the comfort of a year under his belt.” |
