28 year old netminder Taz Burman will take a 2nd tour with Flames, re-joining for 25-26 having previously iced at the club in back to back terms from 2022-2024.

The 6'1", 170lb netminder iced last season with Cardiff Devils, appearing in 5 games while delivering a 2.37 goals against average and a 92.2 save percentage.

Across his 2 seasons at Spectrum, the former University of Alberta Golden Bear iced a little under 3700 minutes while recording a 90 save percentage and a 2.90 goals against average with his best season his first with the club when he posted 22 wins against just 5 defeats with a 2.67 goals against average and better than 90 save percentage over 1600+ minutes.

“Taz did a great job for us during his 2 year stay and both as a player and a personality we are glad to have him return,” said Paul Dixon.

“We are taking a bit of a different approach this season where the plan is for Jake Kupsky to take on more of the workload as opposed to the nearly even split we have worked towards in recent seasons.”

“Taz knows the role is slightly different than when he was last here, but at the same time we do play well over 60 games and so he is going to have his opportunities.”

“Taz is very calm and positive, and I think he will fit in perfectly with our plans for the position this season.  I know when he does get his chances he will be relaxed and ready to play at the top of his game, and when he is not playing he will be a supportive presence for our group.”
