After an October injury cut the remainder of the season from 29 year old Jake Coughler, the Canadian forward will be hoping the 2nd contract year will be more successful.  The native of St Catherines, Ontario made it into just 11 games, and only 3 league outings before a significant lower body injury forced him to the sidelines for most of the 24-25 set.

Coughler joined Spectrum’s men from DEL2 Lausitzer Füchse where he posted 12 goals and 25 points in 48 starts ahead of a 7 point playoff haul in 9 post season games. The 6’1”, 190lb skater made his EIHL debut at the end of the 21-22 season when he joined Cardiff Devils from Danish side Odense Bulldogs.  In 33 games at Devils, he scored 21 goals and 14 assists while helping them to the playoff title and followed up in 22-23 with 13 goals and 23 points in 31 games before 2 goals and an assist in 4 playoff starts.

“If we have ever had a player who had as tough a season as Jake did last year, we do not recall,” offered Paul Dixon.

“He had to go through a very lengthy rehab process and just returned to the ice with only a few weeks left in the season, but not enough to allow him to be up to speed for any game action after the long layoff.”

“He actually looked pretty good on the ice when he re-joined us for training. With a full off season of training and skating we are optimistic about him coming in fully fit and ready to start the new season.”
