Jake Kupsky was unbeaten on 29 shots at the back, and goals by Ethan Strang, Lewis Hook, Daniel Catenacci and Jack Jacome fronted a 4-0 shutout road win at Fife Flyers.
The only goal of the opening frame came off the stick of Strang in the 9th minute.
Hook doubled the margin at 33:57 on a powerplay and Catenacci, 45 seconds from period close, sent Flames to the final break up by 3.
Another late strike, this one inside the last minute of the 3rd closed out the evening’s offence when Jacome scored the 4th.
Kupsky was 29 for 29 on shots while Shane Owen in Fife’s net turned away 30 of 34.
“I couldn’t say enough about the guys this weekend, especially Sunday’s long trip to Fife,” explained Paul Dixon.
“With the weather potentially derailing our initial plans, there was a significant last minute adjustment that none of us were expecting. Everyone took it in stride and still kept their heads on the task at hand to get a win after the long journey.”
“It took a lot of mental fortitude on behalf of all the guys, and they deserve a lot of credit for just rolling with it and grabbing a win.”
“Not a lot of time to think on this with Wednesday night’s trip to Sheffield so we will try to get some rest and get back up for that one.”
